guilt free fun

its been so long, well two years at least, since i've been able to totally enjoy my holidays, without worry of major examinations, holiday homework yet undone, or projects and presentations to prepare for the coming year.

whew. this holiday so far then has been amazingly fulfilling. no such thing as pointless days where i just stayed home and stoned. even if i was home, at least i'd be playing ps3 with bryan. haha good stuff.

just came back from the youth conference, which was somewhat satisfying and pretty well planned and executed so kudos to the organisers and pple involved. but it still left me not much more spiritually enhanced than i was on day 1. it was a bit of feeling like we were too old for. action songs, and some games that went on throughout the conference. and dont get me wrong, not too old as in like- we're too old and mature to be playing such childish games, but more like too old because we( nigel chris mandi elliot and i ) had been through most if not all of the activities, talks, praise and worship sessions, healing and stuff before.

hmm k perhaps i'd better just speak for myself in case my view isn't shared by all. for me, it just felt like hey, there's only so much serious reflection and healing and reconciliation and 'retreating' that i can take within a certain span of time and so this time i took a pass on the healing bit of the conference.

and of course praise and worship has never really been a huge interest of mine. i suppose for some, a small number, praise and worship carries alot of meaning. to me it just feels like a facade of prayer.. kinda. like once the song winds down and the music stops, there's no more " glorifying god" feeling. its like some people are content enough with jumping about, singing at the top of their lungs praising a God whom they feel they love. some do of course, some genuinely do. but others just love to use praise and worship as a means to get their spiritual high. and thats it. for some.

on a lighter note, my first and only prom was very enjoyable :) friends dressed up looking their best, talking laughing reminiscing. the corsage sat prettily on mandi's arm, and i can say she was extremely pleased about it :) the drive there was luxurious, courtesy of ning. and finally post prom was an eye opener. haha yupp.

wildwildwet tomorrow! :)

oh darn, no more A's. -sniff-

hello world!

three days have thus passed blissfully since the termination of my General Cambridge School Examination Advanced Level examinations.

PS3 overload carolling stayover television and now even blogging. haha yes thats how free i am, i'm actually blogging!

mandi and milli are both working, or gonna start, and they're like getting pretty good pay too. dang, wish i could've worked a lil. i stress a lil haha.

but no. i have been called. oh yes. an NS men's life for me! argh still a little too early for my liking jan 10th, but ah well, at least i'm having fun getting there.

a while ago i was thinking of dieting. not like doing dieting, which i did anyway, but more like why dieting was hard for most people.

which led me to ponder on the kinds of food usually advised against when someone's trying to lose an almighty bulge.

which led me to realise that they all taste pretty good. think about it- greasy burgers, oil soaked fries from Macs, insanely flavourful B&J's which were a direct cause of the 4 kg i gained whilst having that in the states. mee kia with lard? how bout char kway teow, black or white take your pick. and oyster omelete!

local or foreign, its really hard to deny that the yummy foods are more often than not regarded as unhealthy.

sure u got diet coke which supposedly has zero well everything- no carbs sugar fats calories you name it. and i supppose there are those who would really love to tuck into their sumptious caesar salad. spinach pie? haha if not for the extra cheese my mom bakes along with it i dont think it'd hardly be considered tasty.

which led me to wonder why in the world it seems as if our human body seems to have some natural affinity for all foods unhealthy.i mean, if our taste buds registered all those leafy greens as delicious, well i might be rushing off to havea bit of spinach juice. ew.

ah well perhaps it's Gods' idea of a big joke on the entire human race eh? "look at those poor souls yearn to consume something thats absolutely gonna make them unhealthy. not to mention fat. all because i messed around with their tastebuds. hahaha" oh the cruelty.

still, the end of A's have proven to have lifted a burden greater than this trivial matter of messed up tastebuds. Prom's coming up in less than a week so that should be an interesting affair. haha alright enjoy the end of A's everyone else, and all the best to those with just one more lit paper to go!

now where's my spinach pie?

a brief reprieve

wow. its been. such a long drawn out affair. rather tiring with all the highs and lows of some korean drama. A levelsof course.

just had chem and econs today, neither of which was particularly comfortable. pah. i hate not being able to be confident about most of my papers. even physics was somewhat more "iffy" than i had expected. made major errors in both chem papers so far and econs felt like prelims, which was an E. i would like to say physics was a confirmed A, but with the amount of explanation questions on quantum and lasers, its tough to be certain. math was probably the most decent i think. but then it takes more than 70 marks to get an A for that so hmm.

3 more papers to go. hope they go well.

whoa.

hmm i have chem paper3 and maths stats paper on monday and tuesday respectively, both papers of which i'm not terribly adept at, and today was supposed to be an insane day of mugging. yet as of 3:49pm, i've only managed to cover 3sets of chem notes, which is a pathetic amount of work. gah. keep falling asleep for some reason.

mm not good. best salvage the rest of the day.

hope everyone's having a good start to the A's! so far it seems to be one of the better examinations that i've sat for. save for gp.

happy mugging!
